Gregg, John Alexander (Alec) - January 5, 2018. Peacefully at Clandeboye Care Home, Bangor. Formerly of Crawfordsburn Road, Newtownards and Comber.
Dearly loved husband of Ena and much loved father of Christine, Stephen and Dawn, dear father-in-law of John and Lila, loving grandfather of John, Sarah, Stephanie, Jennifer, Rose and Christopher.

Private family prayers at home followed by service in Roselawn Crematorium on Thursday at 4.30p.m.

Family flowers only. Donations may be sent if desired to Dementia UK c/o S. Clarke & Son Funeral Directors, 12 Court Square, Newtownards BT23 7NY.

Very deeply regretted by his wife, daughters, son, son-in-law, daughter-in-law and grandchildren Stephanie, Jenny, Rose, Christopher, Sarah (and husband Ben), John (and wife Emma) and great grandson Finlay.

His life was full of kindly deeds a helping hand to all in need,
sincere and true in heart and mind, a memory sweet he left behind.

On behalf of the extended Whiteside Family in Canada and the United States, especially Mom and Dad, we extend our condolences across the miles of land and ocean to the Gregg family on the passing of a much loved father and husband Alec Gregg.

We knew Alex best as close friend and business colleague of Dad's. It was a friendship that never faded through distance, or time. Alec and Dad where good business colleagues and friends for more than 50 years, They also shared a love of golf, good food and fishing out of Portaferry.

Dad wrote a few words which he asked me to forward to Ena. " He wrote: "I grieve deeply for your loss, and I feel a big loss also. I hope that you will get the strength you need and deserve in the days ahead from all your family."

To Ena, Christine, Stephen and Dawn, and to the extended Gregg family we mourn Alec's passing. Many kind and encouraging words will be said in the days a week ahead. Please know that we are thinking of you all especially on January 11 as Alec is laid to rest. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. God bless.
