We, the family of the late Alice Barr, wish to express our sincere thanks to all those who sympathized with us following the death of a very loved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and friend who passed away on the 21st January 2025. We will forever remember the kindness shown to us all at this very difficult time.
Thank you to everyone who attended Mum’s wake, funeral and those who sent flowers, Mass cards, Sympathy cards, messages and offered prayers. Your support has been invaluable. Thank you to those who helped at Mum’s home during the wake.
Thank you to all the staff at Foyleside Family Practice, in particular, Dr Orr and Dr Burns. Also the Community District Nursing Team, with a special thank you to Pauline. Thank you to the Carers from Bryson who helped the family look after Mum. A special word of thanks to Mr Gidwani and the Colorectal Team (Altnagelvin Hospital), in particular, nurses Debbie, Miriam and Pauline, who went above and beyond for Mum. Also a special thank you to the Foyle Hospice Community Palliative Team, Dr Kelly Sweeney, Mairead, Caroline and Claire, who were a great support and comfort to Mum and the family. Thank you to all the staff in the Foyle Hospice at the In-patient Unit inclusive of the Medical Director right through to the cleaners. Every single member of staff were amazing and that gave us great strength.
Thank you to Fr Seán and Fr. Ronni who prayed with Mum and to Fr. Ronni who officiated at Mum’s Requiem Mass. Thank you to Fidelma McNamee, Eamonn Karren and Robert Peoples for the most beautiful music that was so heartfelt at Mum’s mass.
Thank you to The Old Docks, Silver Street, Munchie’s Chip Shop and McDaid’s Bakery for the kindness and generosity to the family at this difficult time. Thanks to Bishop’s Gate Hotel for arranging food for the family also.
Thanks to Kieran and Noeleen and staff at W. J. O’Brien and Son Funeral Directors, Eglinton for the dignified and sensitive manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements.
Although it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of the family's deep appreciation.
Alice’s Months Mind Mass will take place on Thursday 20th February 2025 at 7 pm in St Brigid’s Church, Carnhill.
