The death has occurred of:
Andrew (Drew) McIlroy
Betty wishes to express her sincere thanks for all the kindness, support ,both practical and prayerful, and love from family and friends, during and following, Drew’s illness and death.
She is especially appreciative to those who provided transport to and from the hospital, enabling her to be at his side every day.
The nursing care Drew received from all the staff in the Palliative Care Unit in the Robinson Hospital was excellent and, for that, Betty is most grateful.
Similar gratitude goes to Dr Hutchinson and the staff in Ballymoney Health Centre, Matthewson’s Pharmacy and Cheryl and Eddie from the Ambulance Service.
The pastoral visits of Rev Kenneth Henderson and the comforting words from Rev Roy Gaston at the funeral service deserve special mention, as do Mr David Robinson and his staff for their compassion, efficiency and guidance in arranging the funeral.
The cards, phone calls, emails from Canadian friends and donations to Cancer Research reflected the high esteem in which Drew was held and helped Betty come to terms with the loss of her adored husband.
All these gestures of support are deeply appreciated. Finally, sincere thanks to Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church for granting the use of their premises for the tea after the funeral and to Mr Paul McClelland and his staff for their catering.
