Duddy – 19th November 2023 (peacefully, at Foyle Hospice, after a short illness courageously borne), Ann Irene OBE BSc, Former Director of Nursing WHSCT, beloved only daughter of the late Fred and Nellie Duddy.

Service in The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints, 8 Sandelfields, Knocklynn Road, Coleraine BT52 1WQ on Thursday at 2.00pm followed by interment in Portstewart Cemetery.

My mentor and most inspirational lady in my career, along with Stella Burnside, RIP.
Irene and i did our BSc Professional Development in Nursing together; her base line knowledge far outreached all others.
We later went on a West Coast USA tour to investigate numerous new Kaiser Permanante hospital builds, to comply with revised laws on seismic resiliance along the San Andreas fault, while Altnagelvin was undergoing some long awaited regeneration. We learned much on sensitive interiors and large scale works, with minimal disruption to clinical activity to name a couple of outcomes. Irene was level headed, a great learnèd travelling companion and even got a wee tan!
Her infulence on the profession of nursing was far- reaching. Her management style was dynamic, informed with new advances while compassionate and understanding. I am pleased that Irene knew of my high regard for her, may she rest in peace. Karen LoveOutside belfast. Co. Down Tuesday 21 November 2023
