Passed away peacefully 24th September 2024 at the Ulster Hospital in her 93rd year.

Predeceased by her parents, Sean and Catherine, her brothers Colm and Brendan and sister Mary RIP. Deeply regretted by her nieces and nephews, Michael, Anne, Gerard, Veronica, John, Sean, Tom and their spouses. Greatly loved and cherished by her many grand nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her entire family circle and friends.

Anna is reposing at O’Kanes Funeral Home, 116-118 Donegall Street, Belfast BT1 2GX until Friday 27th September when she will arrive at Sacred Heart Church for Requiem Mass at 1.00pm, followed by committal at Milltown Cemetery.

Sympathy to the whole family circle. Anna Beckett taught me A Level English in the mid 60’s at St Dominic’s and she was a wonderful and much loved teacher. She inspired me to take a degree in English Literature and gave me a love of poetry which has never left me. She was a good friend to my Godmother, May O’Friel, and my mother, Eileen Carragher, both of whom were also teachers at St Dominic’s. May she rest in peace. Anna Carragher Wednesday 25 September 2024
Condolences to Miss Beckett’s family. She taught me English in the mid-80s at St Dominic’s and we all loved her. Her passion for English literature inspired my love of reading and literature. Love and condolences to Miss Becket’s family. She taught me English Literature in the late 80s. Miss Becket loved dialogue in novels! I preferred imagery. She was persuasive in her argument, though.
