Acknowledgement / Month's Mind Mass

Claire Meehan

Died 21st January 2025

The children, Cathal, Blanaid, Paula, Finnula, and Una, along with their sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family, wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported us during this incredibly difficult time following the profound loss of our beautiful and remarkable mother, Claire.

We are deeply thankful to all who attended the wake, and to those who traveled long distances to be with us for the funeral mass.

We also appreciate the kind gestures from those who sent mass cards, sympathy cards, and flowers during our time of bereavement.

Our sincerest thanks go to the medical staff and healthcare professionals who cared for our mum, Claire, with such compassion, respect, and dignity. Words cannot express how grateful we are.

We would like to extend our deepest thanks to Fr. Stephen Ward for the beautiful requiem mass in memory of mum, and to Fr. Canny for his kind and supportive pastoral care during mum’s time in hospital.

A special thank you to GG’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren for their heartfelt participation in the mass, which was done so beautifully and meaningfully.

We are particularly grateful to Emer, Claire’s granddaughter, for the beautiful music that touched our hearts — music that mum would have wholeheartedly approved of. Our thanks also go to Jenny O'Donnell for her graceful harp accompaniment, and to Pat McCafferty, Daddy’s cousin, for his moving and powerful singing.

We are deeply appreciative of The Long Tower Folk Group for their heartfelt and uplifting music during the funeral mass, which brought a sense of peace and comfort to all.

Lastly, we would like to express our gratitude to Bradley & McLaughlin Funeral Directors for their professionalism and the compassionate handling of all the funeral arrangements, which was greatly appreciated during such a difficult time.

As it is impossible to thank everyone personally, please accept this acknowledgment as a token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude. Masses will be offered in recognition of your kindness.

Mum – Claire Meehan’s month's mind mass will take place on Sunday, 23rd February 2025, at 12 p.m. at St. Columba’s Church, Long Tower.
