Latest Sympathy Notices

I received the sad news this morning, that my friend Pa had died. Unfortunately I have not seen him for a number of years.
To his family I send my condolences and although I can't be physically present I will be there in spirit. I will watch his requiem mass via webcam.
Pa was still at the Abbey CBS when I started there in the same year as his brothers Kevin and Raymond. He was a brilliant footballer, (As was Raymond) Both stars for the Abbey and subsequently he went on to distinguish himself playing soccer.
My next real encounter with Pa was when I started working for Harry and Paddy Campbell. At the time Pat was working with Phelan and Prescott. Who audited the company accounts. Pat carried out the audit, and advised the business.
Fortunately the business prospered, so much so that a few years later, we made the best decision the company ever made. We asked Pa to join us. Which he did.
Although he never accepted the directorship offered. In everything else he equalled every other director.
He had married Patricia of course and had a young growing family. We were firm friends, sharing our highs and lows, as friends do. But the loss of Donal was a severe blow, from which I don't think either of them recovered.
Pa was a true friend, a gentleman, the most honest person I have ever known. His family have the consolation of knowing this, and that he was respected by all who knew him.
May he rest in peace, re united with his loving wife Patricia and Donal.
God bless. you all, Brian. Sunday 19 November 2023 Brian O'Callaghan
