The Officers, NCOs and Boys of the 58th Belfast Company, The Boys’ Brigade are deeply saddened to learn that our Honorary Captain Wesley W Lewis BEM JP has passed to glory.
Mr Lewis was our Captain for 50 years, having previously served as an Officer for 17 years.
Wesley grew up through the Company as a boy and NCO, with his brothers Wilfred, Robert, Derek and Trevor.
Under his leadership, fathers and sons, uncles and nephews, brothers and cousins were blessed to know him as their Captain.
Generations of Boys and staff of the 58th Belfast share a deep debt of gratitude for his sacrifice, mentoring, guidance and friendship both in the Company throughout their lives, a stedfast example of “all that tends towards a true Christian manliness”.
As difficult as this is for us, we know that our Captain is absent from the body, but present with the Lord, his Captain.
We keep Valerie, Philip, Barbara, Pamela and the wider Lewis family in our prayers as we give thanks for every memory we have of this man of God.
Sure and Stedfast ??
