Damien McGARTLAND

We the family and partner of the late Damien McGartland wish to express our genuine gratitude and appreciation to everyone who sympathised with us on our recent sad bereavement. We wish to convey our deepest thanks to everyone who called at the wake and our homes, telephoned, sent mass and sympathy cards and who left messages online. We are also very grateful to everyone who helped throughout the wake.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Requiem mass in person, or via the webcam. We wish to extend our sincere thanks to Father McElhennon for his heartfelt and moving Requiem mass and homily which was a fitting tribute to Damien. Special thanks to Gerarda and Bernie for the beautiful singing and music which greatly enhanced the mass. Thank you to the readers and Eucharistic ministers.

We thank the undertaker, Jay Maguire, for the professional and dignified manner in which he conducted the funeral and burial, and also the gravediggers who prepared Damien’s final resting place.

A sincere thank you to Omagh Golf Club for the use of the clubrooms and for providing the refreshments after the funeral. Damien had a lot of happy times there with his many friends.

Damien’s passing has been a terrible shock to us all but we take great comfort from the kindness and support we received, and in the high regard Damien was held by so many. He will be loved and missed by his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.

Damien’s month’s mind mass will be celebrated in Christ the King Church, Strathroy on Saturday 4th January at 6.30pm.
