Acknowledgement
Gilmore, Harold Andrew
31st July 1942 – 20th July 2024
The daughters of the late Harold Gilmore, their families and his dear friend Evelyn wish to extend our heartfelt appreciation and thanks to all who sympathised with us during our recent sudden and tragic loss.
The high esteem within which our father was held was marked by the large number of people who visited our family home at Tattycor during the wake, attended the funeral and called with us in the days following the funeral. We have drawn much comfort from the knowledge that our father was so highly respected and valued within our community. Sincere thanks also to everyone who took time to send cards, letters, messages, brought food and assisted with the wake arrangements. We are eternally grateful for the support received during this very difficult time.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Reverend Robert McFaul for his pastoral support and for conducting the funeral service, Wendy Keys, organist, for providing musical accompaniment and the Woods family for preparing our father’s final resting place at Dromore Presbyterian Church. Many thanks to Barbara Pinkerton and staff for providing refreshments after the funeral service.
A special word of thanks to friends and neighbours who assisted both the family and emergency services on the night of our father’s untimely death, and in the subsequent days. In particular, we wish to thank Francis and Nicholas Smyth, Henry and Stephen Thompson and Philip McConnell. Support afforded to the family by David and Heather McKinley on the night of our father’s passing is also sincerely appreciated.
We extend our thanks to both the Police Service and Ambulance Service for their compassion and professionalism and to Armstrong Funeral Directors for the dignified, caring and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out. We also take this opportunity to thank the community of Dromore village for their mark of respect during our father’s final journey.
Our sincere thanks to everyone who made donations in lieu of flowers to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children and the Belfast City Hospital Renal and Kidney Transplant Unit. Your generosity gives us comfort knowing that other families will benefit from this support in the future.
Finally, it would be impossible to thank everyone for the help and kindness we have received. We trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our sincere appreciation.
The Gilmore family; Clabby, Kent, Omagh, Dungannon and Seskinore.
