Acknowledgement – Hughie Baird, formerly of Townhill Park, Irvinestown. Died 27th December 2024.

We, the family of the late Hughie Baird, would like to express our deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for and supported us through our recent sad bereavement of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother.

We would like to thank all those who travelled to attend the wake and funeral, sent messages, sent mass or sympathy cards. Sincere thanks to all the staff at Ward 8, SWAH, Enniskillen and especially Maria Valentine and Lynn McCaffrey who went above and beyond with their support to the family.

Thank you to Canon Duffy for his help on the day of Hughie’s death, and to Canon McManus for the beautiful requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation to the sacristan and everyone who took part in the liturgy, the readers, Eucharist ministers and gift bearers, and to James McShane for his singing and musical accompaniment.

Thank you to Claude and Patsy of Claude McKervey Funeral Directors who ensured the wake and funeral arrangements were carried out with dignity and respect. Also, to Timothy and Rodney for preparing Hughie’s final resting place.

Thanks to Mahon’s Hotel for providing refreshments after the funeral.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.

Hughie is loved and missed every day. May his gentle kind soul be granted peace and eternal rest.

Hughie’s months mind Mass will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church Irvinestown on Saturday 25th January at 6pm.

Padre Pio, pray for him.
