Died January 11th, 2025, peacefully at the Somme Nursing Home aged 97. Beloved husband of the late Gina and loving father to Nikki, Caroline and Peter. Devoted grampa to Jaime, Tom, Conor, Tara, Laura, Ben, Danny and Rachel and great-grampa to Eleanor, Darla and Max.

Following a private family service at Roselawn Crematorium, there will be a Service of Thanksgiving at 11.00am on Wednesday 22nd at St Columba’s Parish Church, Kings Rd, Belfast.

Tony Greeves was an old comrade of my father in many’s a battle over water resources for rural county Derry in the 60s and 70s. He often visited our house in Dungiven and as a child I remember him as boundlessly debonair, patient and above all friendly to a young person. Austin McGill, Vienna, Austria Monday 10 February 2025
Tony Greeves was my uncle. I grew up in London so typically only saw him once a year when our family went to Northern Ireland in the summer. I loved these visits and even as a boy had fascinating conversations with him. In my 40s I often came to Belfast for work, staying with Tony and Gina. We would stay up late and after a delicious meal cooked by Tony we’d discuss business and politics. In his last few years I visited with my Mum Mary (his sister) and in between would have great conversations over the phone. He was always enthusiastic and when I published my first book he was immediately interested. I loved my Uncle Tony and give thanks for a warm and ultimately very honest relationship. Go in peace.
