We, the family of the late Johnston McCartney R.I.P, 11 Derrynanny Road, Irvinestown wish to express our deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks for the kindness, sympathy and support shown to us in our recent bereavement.
Sincere thanks to our family, friends and neighbours, and those who travelled from near and far to attend Daddy’s wake, sent cards, texts, messages of sympathy online and attended the funeral. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all those who brought food, helped make tea, and those who helped with the car parking. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
A special thanks to Cannon Kevin Duffy for his visits, touching homily and funeral service for daddy. Thanks to Rev. Canon Paul Thompson for visiting our home the morning of the funeral.
We thank 6th Fermanagh Scouts who provided the respectful guard of honour, Aideen McGirr and Devenish Church Parish Choir. We also thank Francie Molloy (Church Saxon) and John Noble who prepared the grave, also stephen lawn for recording the funeral.
Our sincere thanks to the staff at Irvinestown Health Centre who supported Daddy over the years.
A special thanks to all the staff of Ward 2, South West Acute Hospital and the palliative care team who not only provided exceptional and sensitive care to daddy during his short illness but also the support provided to us, his family.
We would also like to extend our thanks to Brendan Lily and staff who have always been so helpful to Daddy.
To Claude McKervey for guiding us with grace and dignity through the difficult days after Daddy’s death, the subtle touches and attention to detail made his funeral arrangements very personal and special to us.
Thank you to Mahons Hotel who provided the food after the funeral.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope that this acknowledgment will be accepted as a token of our deep appreciation for the kindness and support received.
Johnston’s month’s mind Mass will be celebrated on 7th of January at 11am in the Sacred Heart Church, Irvinestown.
