The death has occurred of:
Joseph DOHERTY
Joe’s children—Sheila, Valerie, Hugh, Paul, Patrice, and Jolene, his grandchildren and sisters and brothers would like to express their deepest gratitude to our wider family and friends and work colleagues for the kindness and support shown to us following the loss of a wonderful husband, father, brother, and grandfather.
Your sympathy and generosity during this difficult time have meant so much. Thank you to everyone who attended the wake and funeral, sent Mass cards, and offered help in so many ways. A special thank you to Mary and Anne Marie McCourt for their kindness in providing everyone with food and refreshments during the wake. We are also deeply grateful to Joe’s favourite watering hole, George’s, for their generosity in providing food during the wake and after the funeral, as well as offering a space for family and friends to gather and celebrate Joe’s life.
We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Ward 31, Altnagelvin Hospital, and the Palliative Care Team. Their compassion, guidance, and support helped us through an incredibly difficult time, ensuring that Joe was treated with dignity and respect in his final weeks. We will never forget their kindness.
A sincere thank you to Adair and Neely Funeral Directors for their grace, understanding, and professionalism in handling the arrangements with such care.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this message as an expression of our deepest gratitude. Your kindness and support have brought us great comfort, and we will always be thankful.
The Month’s Mind Mass will be held for Joe at Longtower Chapel on Saturday 29th March 2025 at 10am
