The family of the late Rita McAlonan would like to thank most sincerely everyone who sympathised with them on their recent sad bereavement.

All those who called, brought gifts, sent text messages, sent sympathy and mass cards, donated to the charity in lieu of flowers and attended the funeral and the cremation service, thank you so much for your kind wishes.

To all the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the Macmillan Unit at Antrim Area Hospital who cared for Rita with such love and compassion during the last days of her life, a very special thanks. In particular we would like to thank Dr Louise McNutt and her colleagues.

A huge thank you to Edel and all the nurses from Sciencus/Healthcare at Home who cared for Rita so well through her illness and were always there to listen and help.

To the doctors and staff at Crocus Street surgery, many of whom have known Rita all her life, thank you for your care and support.
To the all the staff at the UIC in Belfast who looked after Rita so well during her many scan appointments, thank you.

To the ladies of Chaperone Solutions, who helped Rita at home and made her life easier, a huge thanks, in particular Audrey, Sheena and Natasha.

To the District Nursing team who provided additional care for Rita at home, thank you.

Many cancer charities provided help and support to Rita through her illness. The Cancer Fund for Children, Action Cancer and Hope House Ireland made such a difference. Very special thanks to Maggie and the team at Cancer Lifeline, Alliance Avenue, Belfast, whose friendship, kindness and compassion knew no bounds.

We would also like to thank the Pharmacists and Staff of Crilly’s Chemist on the Springfield Road for the excellent services you have provided us throughout Rita’s illness.

A Special thanks to Fr Colm Mc Bride PP for a beautiful funeral service . Thanks also to the staff at Antrim and Newtownabbey Crematorium.

Finally a very special thanks to Peter Eastwood and the team at Eastwood Funeral Directors for their unwavering support, professionalism, attention to detail and kindness throughout.

As it is difficult to thank everyone personally, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our appreciation, we will be forever grateful to you all.
