ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We, the family of the late Mary Kelly, 30 Clonliffe Park, would like to express our wholehearted gratitude for the unwavering support and kindness we received following our mother’s peaceful passing, surrounded by her family on the 22nd February 2025.

Sincere thanks for the continued presence and generosity from family, friends, neighbours and all of those who travelled far and near to attend mums wake and funeral; who brought and served food and refreshments during the wake; offered condolences; sent Mass/Sympathy cards, and prayed with and for us.

Thank you to those of you who shared your stories and memories, your tears, laughter and your endless, kind words about Mary, all of which provided and continues to provide a profound source of comfort to us.

Thanks to all the carers who looked after mum in her final weeks with kindness, compassion and dignity. You are amazing people!

We would also like to acknowledge the care given by the unbelievable nursing staff in Ward 4 of Waterside house hospital, for the love given to mum in her final months when she was ill. Again amazing people! We also want to put on record our appreciation to the District Nurses for their attentiveness and dedication in caring for our mother alongside the wonderful Foyle Hospice and Maire Curie nurses. These people practically held our hand in the final weeks and days of mum's life. They ensured mum was comfortable and pain free and they got us through it. Our community is blessed to have you and we will be forever grateful.

Sincere thanks to Fr McDevitt and Fr O’Donnell for their spiritual work at the wake, and Fr Kelly and Fr Farren for the beautiful Requiem Mass and at Mary’s burial.

Thank you to those who provided the flower arrangements, Patricia Wray for the music and singing at the service and the gravediggers for preparing mums final place of rest.

Finally, thank you to all at WJ O'Brien & Son Funeral Directors, Eglinton, particularly Kieran, for his guidance and the caring, attentive and dignified manner in which they dealt with the funeral arrangements.

Although it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our deep appreciation.

Mary’s Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Columba's Church, Drung, Quigleys Point Co Donegal, on Saturday 22nd March 2025 at 8 pm. Everyone is welcome.
