Maura Sherry (née Nee Courtney)

Maura Sherry,
Maghery,
Smithboro,
Co. Monaghan

Maura’s husband Tony, daughter Siobhán, son Stephen, granddaughter Emma, sister Bridie, brother in law and sisters in law, would like to express their deepest gratitude to each and every person who supported and sympathised with them in their recent loss of their special wife, mother, granny and sister, Maura.

Heartfelt thanks to our immediate family, friends, relatives, neighbours and anyone who helped in any way, both during Maura’s time in hospital and after her death. You have guided us and supported us and have continued to comfort and support us since Maura's' passing, for which we will be forever grateful.

Our heartfelt thanks to those who also attended the wake or funeral Mass, sent cards, brought gifts, flowers and food to our home, sent online messages of condolences, called and those who travelled long distances to attend the wake/ funeral. And thanks to the many people who kindly donated to the Cavan Monaghan Palliative Care Fund.

We would especially like to thank Fr. Chester and Fr. Corrigan for celebrating Maura’s funeral Mass. Thanks also to Mark the Eucharistic Minister, the readers and to Amelia McCormack for her beautiful singing and any others who contributed to making Maura's funeral a personal and reverent celebration.

Thanks also to Leonard and Conlon buses for providing the shuttle buses, the bus drivers and Greenfield Eggs for the use of their parking facility and to those who helped with traffic.

Our sincere thanks and appreciation to Aidan Connolly Funeral Directors, Roslea for their kindness, empathy and guidance as well as professionalism in carrying out the arrangements for the wake and the funeral. Their help and support was invaluable to us at this extremely heartbreaking time. Thanks also to the gravediggers, who prepared Maura’s final resting place and Caroline Niblock for the catering after the funeral.

A special mention of thanks to all the staff of Cavan General Hospital, including the paramedics and particularly the kind and gentle doctors, nurses, physios and auxiliary staff who looked after Maura in I.C.U and Medical 1 and who cared for her with love, compassion and dignity. A heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Wilhelm and his palliative care team. We would also like to express our gratitude to the priests and chaplains who offered prayers, blessings and comfort to our family during Maura’s time in hospital.

As it is not possible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all in grateful appreciation.

Maura's Months Memory mass will be held on Saturday the 1st March at 6pm in St. Marys Church, Magherarney, H18 XA61.

We will miss you greatly Maura, may your gentle soul RIP
