Philomena (Phil) MAYNES
We, the family of the late Philomena Maynes, would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered their sympathy and support during our recent loss.
Thank you to all who helped with the day and night sits prior to Philomena’s passing—you made sure she was never alone. Thank you to all who helped prepare the house before and after the wake, brought food, made tea, visited, sent Mass and Sympathy cards, sent floral tributes, shared kind words on social media, and donated to the Alzheimer’s Society, Cookstown. Your generosity and thoughtfulness brought us great comfort. We also deeply appreciate those who attended the funeral or joined us online—your presence meant so much.
A special word of thanks to the medical staff at Garden Street Surgery Magherafelt, and the dedicated team of carers who looked after Philomena so well over the years. We are also grateful to O’Brien’s Pharmacy Magherafelt, the Social Work Team Magherafelt, and the staff at Westlands Residential Home Cookstown, for their support. To the staff of Antrim Area Hospital, especially those in wards A6, A5, and B5, thank you for the care during Philomena’s final months. Our sincere appreciation also goes to Julie and her nursing team at Brooklands Nursing Home Magherafelt, for their exceptional care and compassion during Philomena’s final weeks. Your kindness made all the difference, you ensured Philomena’s last days were as peaceful and comfortable as possible—we could not have managed without you.
We extend our deepest thanks to Father Gates for his support throughout the wake and Requiem Mass, and for his touching eulogy. Thank you also to Margaret Ann Conlon and Patrick Slevin for the beautiful singing and music, and to everyone who participated in the service.
We are also grateful to John O’Neill for preparing Philomena’s final resting place.
A sincere thank you to Joanna and the team at Niall A.Loughran Funeral Directors for their professionalism, the dignified and respectful way they supported our family and carried out the funeral arrangements.
Words cannot fully express how grateful we are for the kindness and support shown to us during this difficult time. We hope this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our appreciation.
Philomena’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, 12th March at 11:00 am in the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, Magherafelt.
