Phylis McDermott (née Gillespie)
It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Phylis McDermott née Gillespie, peacefully at her home on 17th November 2024.
Late of 8 Lislane Drive. May she rest in peace.
Beloved wife of the late Heslin. Devoted mother of Marie, Martina, Lorraine, Majella and the late James, Philip and Baby Heslin. Dearest mother-in-law of Martin, Seamus and Gary. Loving granny of Amanda, Arlene, Mark, Conor, Colleen, Rachel, Aoife, Oisín, Oran and Ethan. A much loved great-granny of Eimear, Fiachra, Fionn, Aoibheann, Oisín, Caoimhin and Frankie. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle, friends and neighbours.
Phylis’s remains will be reposing at her late residence, 8 Lislane Drive from tomorrow morning, Monday 18th November. Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday 20th November at 9:20am for 10am Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Creggan. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.
