We, Rita’s daughters, Órlagh, Bébhinn and Keelin, wish to express our sincere gratitude for all the support shown to us following the loss of Mum.

We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to all our extended family and friends, and to all those in our community and beyond, who sympathised and supported us during this difficult time. Sincere thanks to all those who assisted with and those who attended the wake, brought food, or who helped out in any way. Many thanks to those who kindly sent sympathy/mass cards, letters, phoned us, sent flowers or who expressed condolences on social media. In particular, it was so comforting and moving to hear beautiful testimonies from ex-students and colleagues, to the joy Mum engendered in those she encountered during her years teaching in St. Eugene’s, Castlederg. We were genuinely consoled by the outpouring of heartfelt sympathy and support from all sources.

A special word of thanks to Fr. Joseph Varghese, for his gentle spiritual guidance to us throughout and for celebrating Mum’s beautiful Requiem Mass. Sincere thanks to Fr. Eugene Hassan PP for his comforting spiritual support and for the dignified service he conducted for the interment of Mum’s ashes. We also convey our thanks to the Sacristan for all his assistance with the preparations for the Mass. Sincere thanks to Eamon McElholm and Aoife McCullagh for the beautiful music and singing which deeply enriched the celebration of Mum’s life.

Our deepest gratitude is extended to all those who administered to and cared for Mum in recent years. We acknowledge, in particular, the unwavering support of Catherine Monaghan (Elderly Team), the doctors and staff of Drumragh Family Practice, the District Nursing Team, Consultant Haematologist, Dr. McConville, Haematology nurse, Natalie Martin and Brookmount and Gordons Pharmacies.

We are indebted to both Silverdale and Knockmoyle Lodge Care Homes for the excellent level of care and attention Mum received in her time in both establishments. The professionalism, kindness and sensitivity exhibited by all staff to Mum, and indeed to us, was evident throughout.

Our sincere gratitude to Sean and Tomas O’Kane, Funeral Directors, Drumquin and to their team, for the dignified and professional manner in which Mum’s funeral was carried out. We also acknowledge the staff of Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan for their respectful assistance.
We would like to commend Sarah Daly (The Daisy Chain) for her gorgeous flower arrangements and wreaths. Also, special thanks to Mairead and Mark McBride (MMB Catering) and staff for the lovely funeral lunch provided.

We trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all who assisted us so kindly, as a token of our genuine, profound gratitude.

Mum’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church, Omagh on Friday 31st January, at 7.30 p.m.
