The death has occurred of:
Serena DONAGHEY
The husband and family of the late Serena Donaghey, Newtownstewart, wish to express our heartfelt appreciation for all the support we received during our recent bereavement.
We would like to thank all those who attended the wake and funeral in such large numbers. We are grateful also for the thoughts and prayers of people who were unable to attend but who took the time to convey messages of support and condolence to the family.
We would like to acknowledge the generosity of friends, neighbours and businesses who provided refreshments throughout the wake.
A special word of thanks to Fr Roland Colhoun, CC Ardstraw East, not only for his unwavering spiritual support to mum during her illness, but for his support for the family and the beautiful funeral mass celebrated for mum. We would also like to thank Fr Peter Madden, PP, Draperstown, for concelebrating the funeral mass and Mollie McKeever and Patrick Slevin for the beautiful and uplifting music throughout the mass.
To Dr Greene and the staff of Western Rural Healthcare, particularly District Nurses, Jennifer McFarland and Lorraine Taylor, and Mum’s Granddaughter Claire O’Donnell, words cannot adequately convey our gratitude for the level of care and attention afforded to mum during the latter stages of her illness.
We would also like to sincerely thank the undertakers Paul and Pauline Gallagher and Michael McGuigan for their professionalism and guidance throughout preparations for mum’s funeral.
The family would also like to express our sincere thanks to Breige McSorley and her team from Newtownstewart Parochial Hall committee for the use of the hall and for the beautiful funeral tea.
While it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgment will be accepted as an expression of gratitude to everyone. The holy sacrifice of the mass will be offered for your intentions.
Mum’s Month’s Mind mass will take place in St Eugene’s Church Glenock on Sunday 23 June 2024 at 11.30 am.
Mum was a remarkable and courageous woman for whom family was everything. She was loving, caring and very witty. Her passing has left a huge hole in our lives. Always missed by her loving husband, Brendan, daughters, sons, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and entire family circle.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on her sweet and gentle soul. Newtownstewart, Belfast, Dundee and Omagh
