The death has occurred of:
Shane McKenna (Craigavole)
McKenna-Birmingham & Craigavole
We the family of the late Shane McKenna wish to express our sincere thanks to all those who sympathised with us in our recent bereavement.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Fr Chris McDermott for his spiritual support, guidance, pastoral care and for celebrating the beautiful Requiem Mass.
We especially thank our amazing relatives, friends and neighbours who showed such generosity and helped us during this difficult time. Thanks to those who messaged, sent cards, sent donations and those who gathered along the route to the Church and attended the funeral, we are truly grateful.
The family were overwhelmed by the love and support that Shane received in Birmingham from all his friends. We wish to thank them and Fr Sean for attending the mass in Birmingham and also to those who were able to travel to join us for the funeral.
Thanks to Dermot, Catriona and all at Friel’s for providing refreshments after the funeral; to the Gribbin Girls for the uplifting music, the church sacristan, and those who prepared the grave.
We would also like to pay tribute to the work of McKiernan & Sons who in conjunction with the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust were instrumental in bringing Shane back home. McKiernan and Sons showed such empathy and professionalism organising all the funeral arrangements. We sincerely thank them for their dedication, compassion and personal attention.
The Holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the intentions of all.
