Aidan Conlon MVB MRCVS
We, the family of the late Aidan Conlon, would like to thank everyone who supported and sympathised with us during our recent sad bereavement.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended the wake, those who travelled long distances, brought Mass and sympathy cards and gave gifts of food and flowers. We greatly appreciate the generosity, kindness and support given to us by family, friends and neighbours.
A heartfelt thanks to those who sent letters and cards, phoned and messaged us and posted tributes on social media.
We appreciate the exceptional care and compassion Aidan received from the staff at Belfast City Hospital, the Palliative Care Team in Omagh, the Community Palliative Care Team at Foyle Hospice and the team at Marie Curie. Thanks also to the staff of Lakeside Medical Practice, Treatment Room and Hughes Chemist. Heartfelt thanks also to the many other hospital teams, district nurses and community carers who supported him so devotedly.
Our sincere thanks to Fr Brian Conlon for his pastoral support during Aidan’s illness. Thanks to Fr Brian Conlon and Mgr Peter O’Reilly for celebrating the beautiful Requiem Mass at St Michael’s Church, Enniskillen. Thanks to Bronagh Lindsay for her beautiful singing and to Rory Blake for the music. We also extend our thanks to the readers, gift bearers, Eucharistic Ministers and pallbearers.
We are grateful to our kind neighbours in Algeo Drive for their patience and understanding with parking during the wake and funeral.
Thank you to Fr Laurence Cullen and Fr Brian Conlon for their kind words at the Rite of Committal at Kilmacranny Cemetary. We would also like to thank Tom Shivnan, the local undertaker, for organising the burial plot. Thank you to John Joe and Aidan Keaveny, the gravediggers, who carefully prepared Aidan’s final resting place. We are grateful to Geevagh GAA club for providing a Guard of Honour.
We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to Eamon and Mary Cadden of Cadden Funeral Directors for the respect, caring, and dignified manner in which they conducted the funeral arrangements.
Particular appreciation and thanks to the Graan Monastry for their support and prayers to Aidan and family during his illness. In particular thanks to Fr Brian D’Arcy, who visited Aidan in hospital and at home.
