Angela Rafferty (née Savage)
We, the family of the late Angela Rafferty (née Savage), Chestnut Grove Newry, wish to express our sincere gratitude to all who supported us during our recent bereavement with their thoughtful expressions of sympathy.
Thanks to our family, friends and neighbours who respectfully attended the wake, joined us in prayer at the funeral Mass, offered messages of support online and sent Sympathy and Mass cards. A particular thanks also, to everyone who brought refreshments, helped at the wake and accommodated us with necessities.
We would like to extend a special thanks to everyone who cared for our mother - to McCartan’s Pharmacy for their efficient service, to Dr McKinley, Dr King, Dr Devlin and Dr McGuigan at Cornmarket Surgery for their attentiveness, and to the staff of Ward 1 West, Craigavon Area Hospital for their kindness during her short illness.
We are deeply appreciative of the Community Palliative Care nurses especially Lisa, Millie, David and Rachel who along with the Marie Curie Nursing Team- Trisha, Jenny, and Deborah brought much comfort to our mother in her final weeks.
Our heartfelt thanks to Canon Francis Brown and to Fr Carlos for their spiritual care during Angela’s final days and for celebrating the funeral Mass with Fr Damian and Fr Donal.
Thanks also to the Newry Parish Bereavement Team, Teresa and Paddy, for assisting in the preparation of the funeral liturgy. Our gratitude too, extends to the musicians and singers, Colm Murphy, Mark Magee and John Coyle, and to Dalton the cathedral sacristan.
We are ever so grateful to the pupils and staff of St Patrick’s College Banbridge, St Moninna’s P.S Cloughoge and St Patrick’s P.S. Newry who kindly provided a guard of honour at the funeral.
We also extend our sincere thanks to Charles Digney and Sons’ Funeral Directors for their professionalism and the dignified manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a sincere expression of our appreciation.
The Month’s Mind Mass for Angela will be celebrated in St Brigid’s Church, Newry at 7.30pm on Friday 27 February, 2026.
