Acknowledgement / Month’s Mind Mass
Ann McLaughlin
We, the family of the late Ann McLaughlin, who passed away on 15th February 2026, would like to sincerely thank everyone who offered sympathy, kindness and support during the recent bereavement of Ann, beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and friend.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who cared for and prayed for Ann during her illness while she was in hospital and hospice. We also thank the people who attended her wake and funeral, and those who sent Mass cards, sympathy cards and messages of condolence.
Thank you to all who helped at the wake, and offered support in so many ways, and to everyone who wrote such kind and thoughtful tributes to Ann on social media. It was very evident how much she was loved and how deeply she touched the lives of so many.
Thank you so much also to the Bentley group and the Magnet staff for the way they looked after us.
A heartfelt thank you to our extended family for their incredible support throughout Ann’s illness, particularly in her final days and during the wake. Your presence, kindness and help carried us through an incredibly sad time and we will always be grateful.
We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to the medical professionals who cared for Ann during her short illness, especially the staff of Wards 31 and 32 in Altnagelvin Hospital. A special word of thanks to Mr Gidwani for the dedication, care and compassion he showed Ann. We are also grateful to the nurses and doctors at Foyle Hospice, who cared for Ann with dignity and kindness in her final days.
Our sincere thanks to Fr Declan for visiting Ann during her illness and administering the sacraments, which brought great comfort and peace to Ann and our family. He along with Fr John and Fr Peter, celebrated a beautiful Requiem Mass, and his words about Ann touched us deeply. We are grateful to Sinead Burnside, Isabelle Caldwell and Brid Cutliff for their singing and music, which added so much to the Mass and the celebration of Ann’s life.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Bradley & McLaughlin Funeral Directors and their team for their kindness, professionalism and support throughout the wake and funeral. Their guidance and attention to detail were a great comfort to our family during such a difficult time.
Finally, the prayers, kindness and sympathy shown by so many people have been a great comfort to our family. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a sincere expression of our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude.
Ann’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Steelstown, on Sunday 15th March at 12.15pm.
Everyone is welcome.
