17th August 2025

We, the family of the late Barry Leonard, wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has shown love, support and kindness to us following our recent sad bereavement.

To our dear friends, neighbours and colleagues who provided emotional and practical support during this most difficult time, your presence, prayers and thoughtful gestures have brought us great comfort and peace.

We are very grateful to everyone who paid their respects in person, sent mass or sympathy cards, shared kind messages on social media or contacted us by phone.

Heartfelt thanks to all those involved in the incredibly uplifting candlelit vigil for Barry on his final journey home.

We are so grateful to those who brought food and served refreshments, sat up at the wake, travelled long distances, managed traffic and shared stories and memories of Barry.

We extend our thanks to Father Niall Martin, Father Seamus Quinn, Father Brian D’arcy and Monsignor Peter O’Reilly for their ongoing spiritual comfort and support.

Thank you to Father Niall Martin who celebrated the funeral mass. To the beautiful choir, eucharistic ministers, flower arrangers, sacristan and those involved in streaming the service to the community centre. To the gravediggers who respectfully and lovingly prepared Barry’s final resting place. To Belcoo O’Rahilly’s GFC and all who participated in the guard of honour. Our thanks to Mullaghdun Community Association for the use of the hall and serving refreshments after the funeral.

The family extend their gratitude to Paschal Conway Funeral Directors for the caring and dignified manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements.

We wish to thank the emergency services for their compassion and professionalism.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgment as a token of our appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Barry’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 21st September 2025 at 11am in St Joseph’s Church, Mullaghdun.

May Barry’s gentle soul rest in peace.
