We, the family of the late Bernadette Matthews, 22 Leitrim Road, Hilltown, wish to express our gratitude to everyone who sympathised with us in our recent bereavement.
Heartfelt thanks to those who offered prayers and messages of sympathy, telephoned, sent mass cards, sympathy cards, attended the wake and funeral or watched online and who gave donations in lieu of flowers to The Alzheimer's Society.
Thanks to our extended family circle, friends and neighbours for all their support while Bernadette was in hospital, who provided food and refreshments at the wake or who helped in any other way.
We convey our thanks to Fr. Charlie Byrne for the spiritual support provided to Bernadette and ourselves throughout her illness and for the lovely celebration of the Requiem Mass. To everyone who assisted with the Mass and to Lorraine Matthews for the beautiful music and singing.
Sincere thanks to the staff of Daisy Hill Hospital, Newry for the care and compassion they gave to Bernadette in her final weeks. Thanks also to Dr. Megaw and Dr. Irwin and staff at Rathfriland Health Centre and staff at Hilltown Pharmacy.
A special thanks to the care team of SHSCT who attended to Bernadette every day with excellent care and attention and to Marian Greenan whose kindness and care of Bernadette was deeply appreciated.
Many thanks to the INF, Hilltown and The Diamonds Restaurant for the food and refreshments provided after the funeral.
We would sincerely like to thank Peter McGinn Funeral Directors for their caring, professional and dignified manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements.

Bernadette’s months mind mass will be held on Sunday 8th January in St. John the Evangelist Church, Ballymaghery, Hilltown at 11.30am.
