We, the family of the late Bernard (Barney) McKenna, wish to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who sympathised with us and offered support following his death.

We extend our sincere thanks to the staff of Enable Care Services, the doctors at Parkview Surgery, the Acute Care Team, the District Nurses, the Marie Curie Nursing Team, and the staff of Roxborough House for the diligent, compassionate, and dignified care they provided to Dad during his illness.

We would also like to express our gratitude to Dean Donaghy for his attention and compassion during the time of the wake and for Dad’s beautiful Funeral Mass, and to the Sacristan and all who took part in the Mass, the readers and musician, Brian Mills, who made it such a meaningful celebration of Dad’s life. A special word of thanks to Fr Brian McNally for visiting Dad during the final months of his illness.

A special word of thanks to Patsy, Edel and all at Taggart Funeral Services for their compassion, guidance and professionalism, and for preparing Dad with such care and dignity.

The family wish to acknowledge South West College for forming a guard of honour as a mark of respect as the family passed the college, and Edendork Primary School for their thoughtful tribute as noted in the local paper.

Thank you to The Gables Restaurant for providing refreshments after the funeral.

A heartfelt thanks to all who called to our home, provided food and refreshments, sent Mass cards and flowers, and especially to our neighbours and close friends who supported us so much during the wake, funeral, and in the time since.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our sincere appreciation.

Special thanks from Colin, Audrey, Benardo, Sheila (Swindon), Patsy (Greystone), and their families.

The Month’s Mind Mass for Dad will be celebrated on Friday 20th February at 7:30pm St. Patrick’s Church Dungannon
