The family of the late Bernie McMahon R.I.P. would like to express their sincerest gratitude and appreciation for the many gestures of kindness and expressions of sympathy following the loss of Bernie.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all those who called to the house, phoned, sent mass cards, letters of sympathy, attended the funeral mass in person or online and to all who helped in any way. Thanks to all those who supported us during the wake by helping serve refreshments and who brought and prepared food. Your generosity will never be forgotten.

A special word of thanks to Fr. Gabriel Dolan and Fr. John Chester for all their spiritual support to Bernie and our family and also a sincere thank you for the beautiful funeral Mass. We extend our heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part in the liturgy, our readers, eucharistic ministers and Martina for her beautiful singing. Thank you to the gravediggers for a lovely job done in preparing Bernie’s final resting place.

We would also like to thank all the medical staff from the Palliative Care Team, Marie Curie nurses, all the carers, doctors, the staff on ward 37 in Altnagelvin Hospital Derry, the doctors and staff in ward 1 and 7 at the South West Acute Hospital and Dr. Moks of Maple Group Practice Lisnaskea.

Our thanks to Paul & Yvonne Mohan Funeral Directors for the dignified, compassionate and professional manner in which they carried out Bernie’s funeral arrangements. Their guidance and support to our family was truly appreciated. Our sincere thanks to Roslea Shamrock GAC for the use of the complex and also to Vonnie and her team for all the refreshments provided following the funeral service.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope that this acknowledgment will be accepted as a gesture of our families deepest and most sincere gratitude to everyone who supported Bernie and ourselves thought out her illness and at the time of her passing.

Bernie’s month’s mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 27th September, 2026 at 10.00am in St. Macartan;s Church, Aghadrumsee.

May Bernie’s kind heart and her gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
