The family of the late Billy (William) O’Kane, 43 Glenbank Road Derry, formerly of Saint Johnson and Argyle Terrace wish to express their sincere gratitude to all those who sympathised and supported them in their recent bereavement. We want to thank those who phoned, sent letters, Mass or sympathy cards, wrote social media messages, sent flowers and those who attended the wake or funeral mass in person or online via the webcam link.
We were surrounded by love and support for which we will be forever grateful.
A heartfelt thank you to the paramedics Marcus and Michael who attended to Billy so quickly and the amazing staff at A&E Altnagelvin hospital. We will be forever grateful to the staff at ward 40 Altnagelvin for their care, respect and professional dedication looking after Billy and our family in his final few days.
Thank you to everyone who came to the house, brought food, and helped us throughout the wake sharing your wonderful memories of Billy with us.
Thank you to the incredible family and friends who travelled from all over Ireland, England and Australia to be with us.
Thank you to Oonagh of Teas and Cheese providing beautiful food. A special thanks to Deirdre, Tina and Jennifer for never leaving our side looking after the refreshments throughout the wake.
A Sincere thanks to Father Clerkin, St. Eugene’s Cathedral Derry for the beautiful funeral Mass, to Rory O’Kane, Kevin Keay, Ciara Duggan, Katie McDermott and Emma McDermott for their lovely readings. A Massive thank you to Eugene McLaughlin reading Billy’s eulogy and Sarah O’Kane for the beautiful poem, you all did Billy proud. Thank you to Erin Carlin, Isobel and Kerry for arranging the beautiful music. Thank you to Charmaine at Big Moo Design for designing the order of service booklets.
We wish to express our gratitude to all the those who cared for Billy including the staff at Quayside Medical & Clear Pharmacy Park Avenue. In particular we want to thank the exceptional caring staff who looked after Billy at his home the past few months. You were all fantastic. Advanced care, Bryson care, Northwest Care & Western Trust Care.
To Bradley & McLaughlin Funeral Directors, for the dignified and courteous manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements and the grave attendants at the City Cemetery.
