Acknowledgement - Brigid O’Neill (nee Gormley) 4 Hillview Ave Donaghmore (formerly Drumbearn and Cranlome) died 19th March 2026.
We, the family of the late Brigid, wish to extend our gratitude and thanks to everyone who offered their condolences, prayers and support during our recent bereavement.
Thank you to all who called at the wake and who attended her funeral mass.
Brigid led a long life and passed away peacefully in her 96th year after a short illness. She was the devoted wife of Malachy(deceased) and loving mother of Michael (Edel) and John and grand-mother to Aoife and Aoibh. She was also the loving sister of Annemarie (Quinn) and her late brother Anthony (Gormley).
We want to recognise Fr Breslin, Fr Slater and the Eucharistic Ministers for providing pastoral support to Mum in her home over the last few years. The family also want to thank Fr Slater and Fr Peter O’Neill for celebrating her Requiem Mass and also to all who took part in the liturgy and to Claire McCrystal and family for the beautiful music.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s sincere gratitude to all of those who supported Brigid during her life and who helped out in any way at her wake and funeral. We want to recognise the management of JLM for their help in the arrangements and the Torrent Centre for the use of their facilities.
The family want to recognise the importance of all of the health care professionals who cared for Brigid in her later years especially the team of carers, District Nurses, Marie Curie nurses, the Hospital at Home team, Parkview Surgery and the Torrent Pharmacy. We extend our thanks to the management and staff at Sinnamon’s shop. We also want to thank her neighbours, friends and family who assisted and brought comfort to mum.
Thank you to E. Quinn and Sons Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral was conducted.
Brigid’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Patrick’s Chapel Donaghmore on Saturday 18th April 2026 at 6pm.
