CATHERINE KENNY

KENNY (Downpatrick) 19th March 2016, CATHERINE, (suddenly) dearly beloved daughter of the late Michael and Kathleen Kenny, loving mother of Calum, dear sister of David, Paula and Lee- Maria, sister-in-law of Samantha, Darren and Joe and devoted Auntie of Jack and Madison. May she rest in peace.

Catherine will be reposing in Charles Rourke & Sons’ Funeral Home, 51 Church Street, Downpatrick BT30 6EH Tuesday 22nd March until removal to St. Patrick’s Church, arriving at 7.00 pm. Requiem Mass Wednesday 23rd March at 9.00am followed by interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Killough Road.

No flowers please by request. Donations may be made in lieu if desired to The Welcome Organisation c/o Charles Rourke & Sons Funeral Directors (address as above).

Very deeply regretted by her sorrowing family and friends.

My 24 year old son had the privilege of meeting Catherine last year when she was on the street. I myself am a recovering alcoholic so my son knows what that illness entails and he himself was suffering from mental illness at the time. What struck him was her immediate concern and compassion for me, she sent a scrap of paper with her number on it and a box of cereal bars. He was deeply moved by this as indeed was I and it is with immense sorrow that we learn of her death on the street. She was a lady inside and no doubt she is in a much better place. Much sympathy to all her family.
