The family of the late Charlie Daly, who died on 13th April 2026, wish to express their sincere thanks to everyone who sympathised with them on the loss of their beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, who passed away surrounded by his loving family.

We are deeply grateful for the support shown by family, friends and neighbours. We wish to pay a special and heartfelt tribute to all at Ann’s Nursing Home, Melmount, who cared for him with such kindness and compassion. Thank you to everyone who attended the wake and funeral, sent Mass cards, flowers and messages of condolence, and especially to those who travelled long distances to be with us. A special thank you to everyone who kindly donated to Ann’s Care Home Melmount in lieu of flowers.

Sincere thanks to all who helped in any way, particularly those who brought food and helped in the kitchen providing refreshments during the wake. A special word of thanks to the Morris brothers for the marquee, Jackie Fox and Eamon for the music, Beattie’s for the lorry, John McCullagh for the grave digging, and Owenkillew Community Centre, Annmarie and staff for the refreshments after the funeral.

We are especially grateful to Alan Hempton for the use of his home and yard for parking and bus facilities, and to all the men who helped park cars in the challenging weather conditions.

Thanks also to those who provided readings, to Michael and Seamus McGuigan, undertakers, for their care and professionalism, and to Father Donnelly for celebrating the Requiem Mass.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation.

Charlie’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 9th May at 7.30pm in St Patrick’s Church, Gortin.

May he rest in peace.
