The death has occurred of:
Charlie DOHERTY
Acknowledgement / Month’s mind Mass
Charlie Doherty
The family of the late Charlie Doherty would sincerely like to thank everyone who supported us and showed such generosity following our recent bereavement.
We deeply appreciate the kindness of friends, colleagues and extended family as well as those who called to the house, sent messages of support, sent mass and sympathy cards and attended the wake and requiem Mass. Thanks to all who took time to write so many messages online about Charlie, it is evident how much he was thought of and how he touched so many lives.
A special thanks to Catherine, our nextdoor neighbour, for being a great support to Eileen on the night Charlie died. Also thanks to Father Mongan for calling to the house so quickly and giving Charlie a final blessing.
Thanks to Father Patrick Lagan for delivering a beautiful requiem Mass and to Rita and Richard Moore along with the Long Tower Folk Group for the support throughout the wake and for the amazing music which made the mass so beautiful and personal to Charlie. You all did him proud.
Our thanks especially to our extended family who carried us through the days during the wake and funeral. We will never be able to thank you enough, you gave so much without being asked. We could not have done this without you and we thank you for your continued love, care and support. A special thanks to Eileen’s sisters Pat, Pauline and Susan.
A word of thanks to all the former Brandywell Harps youth players who formed a guard of honour outside the church. We really loved this and Charlie would have as well.
A thank you to Sean and Christine McLaughlin for providing us with food throughout the wake and to their staff in the Branch who went above and beyond after the funeral.
We are so grateful to Kieran Dunne and Bradley & McLaughlin funeral directors for their guidance, professionalism and quiet presence throughout Charlie’s wake and funeral.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere and lasting appreciation.
Charlie’s month’s mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 7th March at 6.00 pm in Long Tower Church with everyone welcome.
