The death has occurred of:
Clayton MURDOCK
Second Anniversary - Clayton Murdock, passed away 16th September 2024.
We weren’t prepared for you to become a memory.
We were prepared for you to get older.
To complain about getting older.
To have birthdays.
To tell us stories we’d heard a hundred times.
To annoy us.
To call us.
To need us.
To watch our children grow.
To watch us grow.
We were prepared for all of that.
We weren’t prepared for a world where your name is spoken in past tense.
We weren’t prepared to wonder what you would look like now.
What you’d be doing.
What you’d say.
What you’d think.
We weren’t prepared for the silence.
We weren’t prepared for the empty space.
We weren’t prepared to realise that the person we assumed would be part of our future…
had already become part of our past.
And we don’t know how to make peace with that.
Because you weren’t supposed to leave.
You were supposed to grow old.
You were supposed to be here.
And maybe that’s why some part of us still feels like this isn’t right.
Because it isn’t.
It never will be.
We can accept that you’re gone.
We can learn to live with it.
We can survive it.
But we don’t think we’ll ever believe you were supposed to be gone.
You were supposed to stay.
That’s the truth we’ll probably carry for the rest of our lives.
Forever loved & massively missed.
From Mum, Dad, Merle, Shellie, Paula, David & Alex, also his children Molly, Rosie & Stanley.
