Auntie Hazel, from your first visit to Canada when I was 3 or 4, to our renewed family gatherings from the opening of the Spade Mill in 1994, you were always welcoming to the Canadian branch of the family. Your wry humour and sage advice will be greatly missed.
Rest in peace and love.

Auntie Hazel, always caring and selfless. A life so beautifully lived will be so beautifully remembered. Thank you for all the bedtime stories, childhood memories, and support in every stage of life. I will miss you dearly, never more than a thought away.

If we love we grieve
That’s the deal
That’s the pact
Grief is the terrible reminder
Of the depths of our love and,
Like love, grief
Is non-negotiable
Thank you for everything, sweet dreams Auntie Hazel
Love you always until we meet again
