Latest Sympathy Notices

I am very sorry to hear of Bill Norris’ death & convey my utmost condolences to his wife & family. In his long good life he was inspirational, majestic, indefatigable. When I started Psychiatry in 1978 Bill immediately mentored me & he was generous, kind, insightful, firm; later an engaging colleague until his retirement in 1990, We last chatted in February 2020 & he was sharp & witty as ever.

Dear Val and family, I am so sad to hear of Bill’s death. He was a wonderful teacher, a kind and honourable colleague. He welcomed me as the first female colleague for many years at Purdysburn and was a wise fellow consultant with a wealth of experience to share. My husband Peter Walby also shares fond memories of Bill’s teaching when he was a final year student at Purdysburn. I was a Senior Registrar when he lost his first wife and was so lost Then he found happiness again when he married you and you had a second family together. Unfortunately I will be in London and will miss the Thanksgiving Service for which I am sorry. Thinking of you all at this sad time, with fond memories and Love Anne (Montgomery) /Walby & Peter Walby Monday 23 October 2023 Anne & Peter Walby, Derryvolgie Avenue
