It was my privilege to work with Sir Kenneth when he was a BBC Governor and I was the BBC Secretary in the 1990s. Summarising Sir Ken’s contributions at meetings was always a delight. ‘Sir Kenneth Bloomfield said that he was often struck …’ often. And his frequent references to the Corinth Canal - only I heard it as ‘the Curragh Canal’. Such a lovely man. And we stayed in touch for years after I left the BBC 25 years ago. The family must be very proud of him.

Dear Lady Elizabeth,
I hope you're bearing up in this time of loss. Sir Kenneth was a wonderful, warm and witty man who showed me kindness whenever we met. I, in my small way, will miss him; you in your vast love will grieve him deeply. May our good Lord comfort you through your distress and bring comfort to you and your family.
