Latest Sympathy Notices

Hello Christine
I just wanted to express sympathy having just watched the funeral service of George which I came across by chance on my iPad. I think about and will pray for your peace as you and the family adjust at this sad time.
I should explain who I am. Although I had long since lost contact with George, we were friends in our teens - for a while he was my best friend. I lived in 122 Ulsterville Ave and George and Wilma lived in 51 Ulsterville Gds. We were in eachothers houses many times. Our families were very good friends and his mother Sally(I think) was a great friend of my mother. Wilma was a flower girl at my sisters wedding. I clearly remember my friendship with George and our chats on many subjects but especially music. Although neither of us was formally trained, we both had a good ear for music and often chatted about songs and harmonies. We had a real mutual understanding which I never forgot. Some other member of the Phillips connections also lived beside us (Pattersons and McFarlands). I was really sad to hear about the funeral. It has brought back so many great memories of our friendship and fun.
I hope these few comments encourage you about George’s youth and his influence even then.

Please extend my good wishes to Wilma - I haven’t seen her for a long time but our paths have crossed a few times since we were children. Tuesday 20 January 2026 Clifford Manley
