Gabrielle and I would love to be there, but time and distances prevents it. I have many memories of Karl - most associated with the Lincoln Inn, but my favourite goes back to a field trip we took to Denmark. At one overnight stop, Karl made his way up to a very ancient ruin overlooking a long glacial lake and played his bagpipes in the moonlight. It was stunning. Fifty-five years later, I still remember the ethereal sound. Thank you, Karl. Rest in Peace.
