My parents, Francis and Sheelagh Walsh, moved to Ballygally in the late 1990s and started off as neighbours to Adrian and Rhoda. Over 25 years later, the deep, trusted friendship that Adrian and my Dad built was truly heartwarming.
I fondly recall listening to some of Adrian’s “war stories” as I entered law enforcement. Who better to get views from than him!
Adrian always treated my wife and children with such respect (and sometimes even me ??) that we always enjoyed popping down the Whin Road to see him.
I shall miss seeing Adrian - even just a wave to each other as I turned into Whin Road. He was a constant, reassuring presence and I have no doubt that he will sorely missed by my family.
Our sincere condolences to the entire Ringland family and, one hopes, from a public that don’t know precisely what he did to keep them all safe during “the troubles”.
A life well-lived. What more could one ask for?
