The Oakgrove Integrated College family gives thanks for Marie’s extraordinary life. By living the dream of an integrated future, Marie made a monumental contribution to peace and reconciliation in Derry-Londonderry. Our deep sorrow is tempered by enormous affection and gratitude for the dedication she showed in creating the school we know and cherish today. We send our love and heartfelt sympathy to her beloved husband Ronnie, her children Rosaleen and Gerrard, and the entire family circle. Marie’s courage and vision remain our guiding hope.

The IEF is deeply saddened by the news of the passing of our former Chair, Marie Cowan. Marie was the former Principal of Oakgrove Integrated College and she dedicated so much of life to Integrated Education. Marie was a champion of our Carson Awards where she loved the judging the creative talents of all our students. Our thoughts are with her husband Ronnie, her children Gerrard and Rosaleen and the entire family circle at this sad time.
