I am so saddened by this, I was just telling my son about this amazing woman who taught me many years ago and how kind and unbelievable she was…
She also taught my mother who is just as upset by this news. I exchanged several letters with Mrs McAleese and photos when I left primary school, she was an incredible woman. She sent me photos after her daughter Amy’s wedding (many years ago) and I can never describe the impact this lady made on me! She was an elegant, beautiful woman who loved and trusted that nobody would have stolen her car which she left unlocked haha ( a Lada) I remember many wonderful things about her and will continues to keep her memory alive through stories with my son as she really made an ever lasting stamp on my life.
I send my deepest condolences to her family and I hope that they take some comfort in the fact that I not only love what memories and experiences their mother, grandmother, family member and friend brought to my life and my mothers but allow me to share those memories with my child. That is the truly special mark that Mrs McAleese has left.
