Dear McFadden family,
On behalf of myself, Lizzie, and the entire Ralph Lauren family, please accept our deepest and most heartfelt condolences.
Our Home team, and truly the whole store, are absolutely heartbroken by the loss of Julie. We all adored and loved her so very much, and it is difficult to put into words how it feels knowing that we will never see her walking back through our doors again.
Julie had the most special aura. She was absolutely gorgeous, both inside and out, and she had a presence that was impossible to forget. We always respected her privacy, but at the same time, we all admired her enormously and the incredible bravery she showed.
She had such a wonderful personality. She was always making us laugh, telling stories in the most amazing way, singing, joking and bringing so much life into the room. She could make everything feel lighter whenever we were all taking our work a little too seriously. We will miss her sharp wit, her eccentricities, her wonderful sense of humour, and all the little things that made Julie so uniquely Julie.
We will miss the sound of her infectious laughter, her stories and anecdotes from her time at Harrods, and all the wonderful moments she shared with us. She could sometimes seem mysterious, but she was also incredibly caring, and everyone who had the privilege of spending time with her had something lovely to say about her.
To Ryan, Lizzie, Tina, myself, and everyone else who had the pleasure of knowing and working alongside her, Julie was someone we felt incredibly lucky to have known. She was so smart and had the best advice. She had a way of seeing things and expressing herself that stayed with you.
We will remember her not only as a colleague, but as a very special person who enriched our lives. She brought something to our workplace that cannot be replaced, and her absence will be deeply felt by all of us.
I can hardly imagine how difficult today must have been for Julie’s family and friends. Please know that, although we could not be there in person, we were there in our hearts, thinking of Julie and of all of you.
We would also like to thank Margaret for having the courage and kindness to call us on Wednesday and let us know about Julie. It meant so much to us to hear from her and to be able to understand what had happened.
Thank you again for your kind words about Julie and for sharing her with us. We will miss her more than words can say, and we will always remember her with enormous affection, admiration and love.
