Le brón mór a chuala muid faoi bhás Gerry. Bhainistigh sé ár gcúrsaí dlí go saineolach agus go pras le 40 bliain anuas tar éis moladh ó mo dheirfiúr an Dr Ethna. D'fhóin sé go maith dúinn ... i gcónaí le gáire, aghaidh chairdiúil agus leis an gcomhrá fáilteach sin go dtí an lá atá inniu ann. D'fhéadfaimis a rá gur thaitin sé linn Gerry mar gur aghaidh fáilteach a bhí ann d'eachtrannaigh Fhear Manach i mBéal Feirste. Slán leat anois a Gerry ....maireann do chuimhne agus beidh. Go ndéana an Tiarna trócaire ar d'anam uasal ... bheadh ??trácht searbh agus gáire ag Gerry leis sin. Slán anois. Gerry was one of those genuinely lovely people who was always a pleasure to meet. He was a friendly, kind and caring man, with a wonderful wit, a great sense of humour and a natural ability to make people feel at ease. He was always so obliging and willing to help in any way he could.

I particularly remember a day when I had reason to deal with some sensitive legal matters. It could have been a difficult and uncomfortable time, but Gerry, in his own wonderful and witty way, handled everything with such kindness and good humour that he put both my wife and me completely at ease. That memory has stayed with me and sums up Gerry perfectly — a true gentleman who had a gift for making people feel comfortable, even in difficult circumstances.

Gerry will be greatly missed by all of us. It was always a pleasure to see him, have a chat and share in his good humour. We feel very fortunate to have known him and will remember him with great warmth and affection.

Our heartfelt and sincere condolences go to Maemie and the whole family circle at this very difficult time.

Rest peacefully, Gerry. You will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by us all. Wednesday 12 August 2026 From Andrew Crymble and all the staff at David Crymble & Sons.

Ní bheidh a leithéidi arís ann

Gerry - a man of the people - for the people - living that most important tenet of our Faith -‘compassion’! You put everybody before yourself .

Favourite story - clipping the wings of the QC who was dismissive of your ‘little old lady’ client - in front of her!

Favourite memory - every first of the year with your father, Maemie and your children at Lunch in the Four Winds - so proud of them all and so happy - and always time for a word!

A wonderful human doing - now happy in Heaven -rest in peace and joy!
