I am so so saddened to learn of Alistair's death. I would very much wanted to be present for his funeral had I known in time. Alistair was a good friend and brilliant team mate at Ballymena rugby club. We reminisced at some length after Wallace's funeral. I wish to pass on to Rosie my sincere sympathy.

It was a joy to play rugby with Alistair and an honour to be a friend. He was a truly good person - far too modest, always thinking others deserved adoration when in fact he was the one to be admired. I have many of his plants in the garden, and I look forward to many good memories of him as I try to look after them.
