5th May 2025.
David passed away peacefully on the 5th May 2025. A widely respected and dearly loved family man, he was a devoted and deeply treasured husband, son in law, step father, father in law, grandfather, brother in law, uncle and friend.
We, his family wish to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for, and supported us through our recent sad bereavement. We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way including those who called to the wake in Grianan House Funeral Home, sent sympathy cards, flowers or donations in lieu of flowers for Care for Cancer and to those who left messages online or via social media. A heartfelt thank you as well to those who lined the funeral route or who joined us at the funeral service.
Sincere thanks to all our relatives, friends and neighbours who have helped us in so many ways, throughout the wake, the funeral and now afterwards, to support us in our grief as a family. We would especially like to thank Nicola, Eugene, Eva, Margaret and Marie for all their help and kindness.
A special word of thanks to Reverend Jonathan Cowan for his support and for a very moving funeral service which really captured the essence of David. We convey our appreciation also to our musician Beverley who provided the beautiful music, and to the caretaker Wesley for all his help.
A special thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors, for the dignified and professional manner, in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the gravedigger for preparing David’s final resting place. Thank you also to Roisin of Nettles and Petals for the lovely floral tributes and to the Fintona Presbyterian Church ladies for the very welcome refreshments after the funeral.
We would also like to thank the District Nursing Team, the Respiratory Nurses Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex and the staff of Ward 8 South West Acute Hospital, for their outstanding care during David’s illness.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgment as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude and appreciation.
David is ever loved and greatly missed every day by his wife Michelle, mother in law Annie, step daughter Rachel, son in law Oliver, grandchild Alexandria, brother in law Colin, niece Chloe and entire family circle and friends. To know him, was to love him.
