David MacFarland
It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of David MacFarland, peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital on 12th May 2026.
Late of Burt, Co. Donegal and formerly of Munich, Germany. May he rest in peace.
Beloved father of Aileen and Grainne. Loving Opi of Olivia. Precious son of the late Moore and Moya. A much loved brother of Jim, Moore, Magdalene, Veronica, Marian, Gerard, Jack and the late Mary, Joe and Baby Eileen. Dearest grandson of the late Nellie. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle and friends both in Ireland and Germany.
David’s remains will be reposing at his sister, Marian’s home, 14 Slievemore Park from 6pm tomorrow evening, Wednesday 13th May. Funeral leaving from there on Friday 15th May at 9:15am for 10am Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Creggan. A cremation service will take place afterwards at 2pm in Lakeland’s Crematorium, Co. Cavan. Everyone welcome.
The wake house will be private from 10pm until 11am.
