The death has occurred of:
Eileen McLAUGHLIN
The family of the late Eileen McLaughlin wish to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness shown to us following our sad loss.
We offer our hearfelt thanks to the many family members, friends and neighbours who attended the wake, Requiem Mass and burial, and to family and friends across the world who watched the Mass via the Cathedral webcam. We thank those who provided emotional and loving support for us at this difficult time. Thank you to all those who sent messages, telephoned, travelled long distances and to everyone who made charitable donations to Columba House and sent flowers, we are truly grateful. A special word of thanks to all those who provided food and helped out at the wake and to Shantallow Community Centre and the Resource Centre for all the help.
We are extremely thankful to all the wonderful people who cared for Eileen over the years, especially the staff at Edenballymore, staff in A&E, Ward 41 and the Palliative Care Team in Altnagelvin Hospital, Isobel and the Older People's Mental Health Team, Dr Ann Doherty and all the staff at Oakleaf Medical Practice and the many carers who came to Lavery Fold and Templegrove.
We are grateful to all those who participated in the Mass, and especially thank Fr. Shaun Doherty, Fr. Michael Canny, Fr. Patrick Lagan, and Fr. Paddy Doherty for all the spiritual support received by both Eileen and us. We thank Fr. Paddy for celebrating the beautiful Requiem Mass and for the graveside service.
Thanks to Erin and Eamon for the lovely music and also to Paddy for preparing the chapel. Finally, we wish to thank Kieran, and all those at W.J. O'Brien Funeral Directors for their sensitive and professional handling of arrangements.
To those who helped in any way, your contribution, love, prayers and support made our loss more bearable. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgment as an expression of our sincere gratitude, we will keep you all in our prayers. The Holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her. Sr Clare Crockett, Servant of God, intercede for her. Saint Carlo Acutis bless her soul.
Eileen's Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 4th October at 7pm in St. Eugene's Cathedral.
