Fr. Niall Greene
Fr. Niall Greene C.S.Sp., An Tobar, Ardbraccan, Co. Meath and Glassdrummond, Kinawley, Co. Fermanagh. Died suddenly on the 10th December 2025.
We Niall's sisters, Filicia, Petrina and brother Terry, along with all members the extended Greene family circle wish to extend our deepest gratitude and warmest thanks to everyone who offered their condolences, prayers, messages, mass cards, sympathy cards, food, gifts and support during the recent and tragic bereavement of our devoted brother Niall.
Fr. Niall was a widely respected Spiritan, as well as a devoted brother, uncle, nephew and friend to everyone who knew him. His kindness touched the hearts of many.
We thank all of Niall's Spiritan brother's for the vigil of prayer held on the 13th December 2025 led by Fr Peter Conaty at the Spiritan Retreat and Spirituality Centre, Ardbraccan, to everyone who took part in the vigil and to the large number of people who attended and sympathized with the family before Niall's final farewell from his home in Ardbraccan back to his family home in Kinawley.
We offer a sincere thanks to the first responders and emergency services personnel who attended to Niall in Ardbraccan, to Farrelly Funeral Directors, Navan, along with Pat and Mark Blake Funeral Directors, Derrylin, for the dignified and professional manner in which Niall's remains were treated and funeral arrangements conducted.
We offer thanks to all those who took part in the requiem mass in celebration of Niall's life. To chief celebrant Fr Tony Sheridan C.S.Sp. and Fr Maurice Shorthall C.S.Sp. for his touching homily of Niall's 25 years as a spiritan brother, to those who took part in the liturgy, read prayers, brought up symbols of Niall's life, and to all the Spiritan brothers who travelled long distances to attended Niall's final farewell. Thank you also to Fr McMorrow and his fellow clergy for their spiritual guidance throughout this difficult time for our family.
A special word of thanks to the choir of Ardbraccan, which Niall was a huge part of and held so dear, for travelling to take part in his requiem mass and for the beautiful farewell at Niall's place of rest.
Thank you to grave diggers, Dessie, Ryan and team for the professional preparation of Niall's final resting place, to all who prepared and provided refreshments in the Kinawley community center, to all who help prepared for Niall's home coming and facilitated his wake, and to all those friends, neighbours and school children who provided a guard of honor for Niall's remains, both in leaving Ardbraccan and returning home to rest in Kinawley.
As it would be impossible to to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of out family's deepest gratitude.
Fr. Niall's months mind mass will be celebrated in St Naile's Church, Kinawley, on Sunday January 11th at 11:30am.
Fr Niall, may your gentle soul rest in peace.
